Who we are

Brummell ("Brummell," "we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application that helps users discover outfit combinations from clothes they already own. Brummell is operated by CurroCasas, LLC, based in Connecticut.

Scope of this policy

This policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the Brummell mobile application and related services (the "Service").

This policy applies to users in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, you should not use the Service at this time.

What we collect

We collect only the information needed to make Brummell work.

Information you provide

• Account information. Email address and authentication credentials (via Supabase Auth).
• Style preferences. Your responses to the swipe onboarding cards and your reactions to outfit suggestions (thumbs up/down).
• Photos you choose to upload. Photos of clothing items or outfits that you select from your device's photo library via the iOS Photo Picker. We only access the photos you explicitly select. We do not access your full photo library.
• Items you add manually. Product URLs you paste, text you type to correct attribute tags, and any other content you choose to add.
• Daily wear log. When you confirm or photograph what you are wearing on a given day.

Information collected automatically

• Usage events. Which screens you view, which suggestions you rate, which features you use. This is collected via PostHog (our analytics provider).
• Device information. Device model, operating system version, app version, and a randomly generated device identifier.
• Crash and error data. Stack traces and device state when the app crashes, via Sentry.

Information from third parties (only with your explicit consent)

• Email receipts. If you connect your Gmail account, we will parse purchase confirmation emails from clothing retailers to extract item information. We do not read other emails. You can disconnect at any time. We never store your full email content.

How we use your information

• To generate outfit suggestions and personalize your experience.
• To improve the suggestion algorithm based on your feedback.
• To diagnose bugs and improve performance.
• To communicate with you about your account or material changes to the Service.
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your photos or wardrobe data to train third-party AI models.

How we share your information

We share information only with service providers ("subprocessors") that help us run Brummell. Each is bound by a contract to protect your data.

We will update this list as our subprocessors change. Material changes will be notified in-app.

We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not run advertising in the Service at this time.

How long we keep your information

• Account and wardrobe data: retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• Photos you upload: retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• Analytics events: retained for 12 months in PostHog.
• Crash logs: retained for 90 days in Sentry.

Your rights and state-specific disclosures

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct information you believe is inaccurate, delete your account, or export your data in a machine-readable format. Use the in-app options or email support@brummell.tech. We will respond to verifiable requests within 30 days.

California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to demand its deletion, and the right to opt out of any sale of personal information (we do not sell your data).

Connecticut Privacy Rights

As a entity domiciled in Connecticut, we respect consumer rights aligned with the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA). Residents of Connecticut have the right to confirm whether we are processing their personal data, access such data, correct inaccuracies, and delete personal data provided by or obtained about the consumer.

Children

Brummell is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.

For users between 13 and 18, parental consent may be required depending on your state. By using the Service you confirm you meet the minimum age requirement of your jurisdiction.

Security

We protect your information using:

• Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) for all data between the app and our servers.
• Encryption at rest for the database and stored photos.
• Row-level security in Supabase: users can only access their own data.
• Access controls and audit logging for our team.
• Regular dependency and security updates.

No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a breach that affects your data, we will notify you and any regulators required by applicable US state breach notification laws.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If changes are material, we will notify you in-app and update the Effective Date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
